"The show is transformational. It is brave and heartfelt, honest and hilarious, knowing and knowable. It is far more Us Too than Me Too."

- Samantha Simmons-Ronceros, Noho Arts, Solofest 2019

The multi-award-winning, Wild At Hart, deeply engages the audience while striking a timely, powerful chord for all ages (mid-teen and up) and genders. Character portrayals from thick New York dialects to wise old oak trees, songs, pathos and humor, all masterfully tell Hart's courageous tale of surviving sexual assault and the healing she found along her surprising, transformational journey. The central character of Shame is the dark side's emcee, the iconic inner critic that everyone cringes in recognition of and yet, in a unique twist, is transformed as well.

With a bachelor’s degree in Speech, Theatre & Communications, a master’s degree in Spiritual Psychology and a lifelong commitment to her personal healing, Kamakshi brings a unique set of skills to augment the experience of witnessing her performance and its content.

Spurred to action by the advent of the #MeToo movement, in 2018 Kamakshi realized a 30 year vision to tell her story from the stage. Her greater intent is utilizing the show as a gateway to teaching about the negative health and life outcomes of all trauma, with a spotlight on the epidemic of sexual violence. Wild At Hart acknowledges that though the majority of sexual assault centers on women and girls (with a disproportionately high number within BIPOC and LBGTQ+ communities), the number of male survivors continues to be underreported.

In addition to the show’s performance and facilitated post-discussion, presentations and workshops are available for high school and college audiences and for organizations and conferences seeking trauma-informed content and training.

"Wild at Hart is not just a solo show, nor a musical, nor a coming out horror story - it is true masterpiece theatre.”
— Naomi Collins-Beltz

The Audience Is Raving…

“Kamakshi is a brave and talented performer. In the words of Bill Bullard: "The highest form of knowledge is Empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world." Hart has you live in her world, reveals how she disarmed 'shame', and can point you towards your own healing.”

- Sherry Rishel

“Wild At Hart is a riveting and powerfully moving piece about triumph over trauma. Kamakshi’s one-woman show is an inspiring story of transformation and hope for anyone, but most especially for those of us seeking to heal, and it continues to buoy me still, several weeks after seeing it.”

 - Shellan Isackson

“Wild at Hart differs from other solo shows because Hart also provides patrons with a how-to guide to moving on from trauma to positive change and true well-being, just as she does in her popular Wild at Hart Workshops.”
